Telling Stories...Cruise stories

Ok, I have been bff with Kathi for 13 years. We know a lot about each other. 2nd night in to the cruise, after a day at Ft. Lauderdale beach and two days at sea... and I am pretty tan. We are talking to a group of people and they comment on our tans. Kat tans a golden tan and I tend to tan a reddish tan. She comments...”Oh that is from the Indian blood in her”.

WTF!! Put the drink down sister….I have NO Indian blood in me. I am German and English. Where did that come from? Somehow she had it in her blonde head that I was part Indian. LOL never ever have I said or even said anything close to that.

Believe me; she did not live it down the rest of the trip from comments from me and the group we were with. LOLMore to come…..

Sweet Caroline

As I watched the Grammy’s tonight, something strange happened. Neil Diamond came on and started singing Sweet Caroline. Ok, the history is …my mom’s name was Caroline, but just call her Cal. I love that name.

Neil Diamond came on and started singing and my normally not so snuggly kitten suddenly jumped on the couch. She nestles her head under my chin and snuggled there for the whole song. She would periodically reach her nose up to mine and rub my nose. She had never done that. Kind of weird…don’t you think?

Anyway it was a good memory of the time Les and I put the disco ball light on and dropped confetti over the balcony in our house in Kentucky to this song for their anniversary. Love you mom! She passed away in 1981.
